The Delonghi Dedica is maybe the most famous small espresso machine in the world, along with the Bambino. Anyway, the Dedica is a 51mm machine, with 30 second heat up time, 3 temperatures to choose from, and with many affordable acccessories. Let’s look at some below.
The first thing you’ll need is a decent tamper. When I first started, they only had standard metal tampers, with no self-levelling or pressure gates. Check out this cool tamper below, which self-levels itself for an even tamp, and also stops at a certain pressure.
Next, you’ll want to get a decent bottomless portafilter, to be able to see your shots. These generally come with an unpressurized filter basket, which is great. You can get an aluminum handled one, like below, or a wooden one if you want.

From here you’ll likely want to get a decent scale, to measure your doses. There are many available these days. I think the best two for the money are from MHW-3Bomber and Maestri house. They both measure to 0.1 gram, and both have timers.
