Black Friday and Pre-Black Friday

Originally, black Friday was just one day after Thanksgiving in the USA. It was a day people had off anyway, and so stores took advantage and offered extreme sales to lure the people in to do their Christmas shopping.

These days, Black Friday is not just one day, but many days! For some products, it starts in 1-2 weeks before Thanksgiving, and lasts into the following week. Let’s look at some good deals below.

Delonghi Single Boilers and Thermoblocks

Viewing the picture above, the new Dedica Duo is on sale, as is the Dedica Maestro. These are two of the newest in the Dedica line-up, and they have a few advantages. For example, they both include larger, 16 gram double baskets over the older Dedica’s 14 gram basksets.

Also, the Duo, as the name would suggest, does hot drinks, PLUS a cold coffee (it bypasses the heater). The Maestro on the other hand does automatic milk frothing.

The ECP and Stilosa are also on a slight sale, but the Dedicas have the larger discount here.

Delonghi Semiautomatics

Two of Delonghi’s newest semi-automatic espresso machines are on sale, too. These are the La Specialista Opera, and La Specialista Touch. They both include the new cold drink technology, and both do a great job on espresso drinks, cafe crema, and milk steaming, in my opinion.

I think that the Opera looks nicer of the two, and it comes with the nice integrated tamper. Others will be drawn to the Touch, which includes a little touch display to lead the user along in using the machine. This is especially helpful for settings and descaling tutorials.

Delonghi Superautomatics

Probably the best deals that Delonghi has are the superautomatics. These are machines that grind, tamp, extract, and eject the puck for you, and froth the milk, too.

They have their midrange Magnifica Evo on sale, as well as my favorite, the Magnifica Plus. I like the Magnifica Plus best, because it makes a very strong Doppio+ espresso drink, and it has a nice updated color touch screen. I also like the way it looks.

Their more expensive machines like the Dinamica Plus, Rivelia and Eletta Explore are also on sale. I would say the the drink quality is very comparable on all of these higher end machines. Therefore, I think the Magnifica Plus has the best price for performance. If however you want cold drinks, then consider the Eletta Explore. The Rivelia is good if you want to switch beans, as it comes with two bean canisters.
